Celebration of Life - Oliverea, NY for immediate family
Tony was born on February 9, 1943 and grew up in Ozone Park. Being a foster child shaped his formative years and his thoughtful, sentimental demeanor. He started his business, Tony M. Bifano Plumbing & Heating, at a young age and soon thereafter became the forever loving husband of Susan.
He’s remembered for his faithful romanticism, 45 years of marriage, and nearly 60 years dedicated to his trade and loyal customers - many of whom he considered family.
For those of us who have been blessed to share a moment or memory with him, we know his enthusiasm for life was infectious and he was as resilient as they come.
Tony was known for his huge hugs, warm welcomes, funny expressions and notorious splits on the dance floor (which left his kids running for the door). He was a lover of garage sale hopping with Susan, Christmas traditions, poker with the boys, train shows, and sending Hallmark cards for every. single. holiday.
To know “Pop Pop Tony” is to know his love of happy things: Lionel trains, antique cars, Disney memorabilia, larger-than-life Christmas decorations, and every lyric to the Righteous Brothers.
On the side of their Catskill home reads a sign that says “Tony and Susan’s L’il Bit of Heaven”: their home away from home nestled on a lush landscape with the warmest memories echoing and enveloping those who visit within the magic of the mountains. It’s heaven on earth indeed and the perfect place for him to be laid to rest. How fortunate we all were to have had a little bit of heaven here, with him on earth.
Tony will be missed dearly by his wife, Susan; and three children, Stacey (Daniel) Kaufmann, Michael (Kelly) Bifano, and Autumn (Frank) Callahan; as well as eight grandchildren; Adryanna, Vienna, Anderson, Hagen, Dylan, Marjorie, Lucas, Suzie and furry children, Ben and Heidi.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s hospital in Anthony’s name or crank up some holiday music or Doo-Wop tunes and sing along in remembrance.

To know you was to know that whimsy and joy are not things to be left behind in our youth but instead the foundation on what beautiful lives are built upon. Our family wants to honor you with a dance. So with a spring on our step and light in our hearts we are dancing to this classic tune as we celebrate your legacy and tremendous spirit. After a lifetime of lighting up the lives of those around you, it is now your time to light up the sky above us.
Rest in joy
Rest in whimsy
Rest in love
Always - Eva , Rich & Casper
Tony with your kind heart and generous spirit you were such a force of life. We shared many happy times with you that we will always treasure. At Christmas, we will pause to remember the wonderland you created and so happily shared with the young and old. Rest in peace, but know you have touched the hearts of many.
StarrWith love,
Louise and Bob Starr
