Chicago on 24 July 1915

5 years, 3 months

Boarded SS Eastland with her father George (29) for a picnic at Western Electric at 7:30 AM. A few minutes later because of the weight of passengers- the huge lake steamer slowly rolled on its side in the Chicago river near the docks. Most risk drowning in the shallow water or being crushed by falling furniture. Both Muriel and her father perished in the disaster.
