Hillside on 29 June 1910

Chicago on 24 July 1915

5 years, 0 months

From Hillside, IL U.S. Boarded SS Eastland for a picnic to Western Electric along with her younger sister Mildred (3) and aunt Agnes Olsen at 7:30 AM. Few minute later-because of the weight of passengers, the huge lake steamer slowly rolled to its side in the Chicago river near the docks. Most passengers and crew risked drowning in the shallow water, or being crushed by falling furniture. All three perished in the disaster.
