Chicago on 24 October 1914

Chicago on 24 July 1915

9 months

Boarded SS Eastland with her mother Alice Sr for a picnic held at Western Electric at 7:30 AM. Few minutes later because of total weight of passengers, the huge lake steamer slowly rolled on its side in the Chicago river near the docks. Many passengers and crew risked drowning in the shallow water or being crushed by falling furniture. Both baby Alice and her mother perished during the disaster.
